From 4 to 9 November 2025, the national and international short film industry will gather at the 29th Internationale Kurzfilmtage Winterthur. The festival’s Industry Events offer a wide range of informative and educational events and networking opportunities. The full programme will be published in October.

In addition to our established formats – the Swiss Film School Day, the Industry Lab, and the Creators’ Room – there are five exciting opportunities for filmmakers with projects in various stages of production.

Pitching Session: P.AiR.S Project Development Residency
Saturday, 8.11.25, blue Cinema Maxx
Kurzfilmtage awards a project development residency sponsored by P.AiR.S for an independent Swiss short film production. During a pitching session for projects in early development, a Swiss project will be selected for participation in the residency consists of a seven-week stay in Sigriswil from 5.1.26 to 22.2.26.
A new cooperation Solothurner Filmtage additionally grants the selected project automatic participation in the Perspektiven Lab of the 61st Solothurner Filmtage. The Perspektiven Lab offers eight projects the opportunity to engage in one-on-one meetings with experts from the Swiss and international film industry, and awards two of them with a development grant of CHF 5,000 each, sponsored by Suissimage and SSA.

FOCAL Script Coaching
Saturday, 8.11.25, Alte Kaserne Winterthur
The Script Coaching for short film projects is presented by Kurzfilmtage in collaboration with FOCAL. It offers six to eight Swiss authors/directors an opportunity to receive professional feedback on their short film scripts during free coaching sessions. The coaching sessions last 60 to 90 minutes and are held by Uwe Lützen, Rhea Plangg, Quentin Mistral, and one other person (tba).

Pitching Session: European Short Pitch
Saturday, 8.11.25, blue Cinema Maxx
As in previous years, Kurzfilmtage is collaborating with European Short Pitch. During a pitching session for projects in development, a Swiss project will be selected for participation in the 2026 edition of European Short Pitch. The winner will benefit from a scriptwriting workshop, production and pitching training, mentoring sessions, and participation in the Coproduction Forum.

Postproduction Award
Kurzfilmtage presents the Postproduction Award, a non-cash prize worth CHF 10 000.– donated by Jingle Jungle Tonstudios. The award-winning project, selected by an expert jury, will receive the following postproduction services: dialogue/original soundtrack editing, dubbing, sound design, foley, sound mixing, and music composition.

Reasons to Buy a Film
Saturday, 8.11.25, blue Cinema Maxx
Kurzfilmtage presents the event Industry Conversation: Reasons to Buy a Film. It offers short film directors an opportunity to present the first three minutes of a current project to experts who work in acquisitions, sales, and distribution. Prominent industry representatives watch the clips and assess the films’ market potential. Rough cuts and works in progress are also eligible.

Save the date: at the Industry Awards Ceremony on Saturday, 8 November 2025, Kurzfilmtage will announce the winners of the Award for the Best Swiss School Film, the Postproduction Award, the participant in the European Short Pitch 2026, and the P.AiR.S Project Development Residency.
