From 5 to 10 November 2024, the national and international short film industry will gather at the 28th Internationale Kurzfilmtage Winterthur. We are pleased to announce five exciting calls for entries, which have been specially created for filmmakers with projects in various stages of production: European Short Pitch, Reasons to Buy a Film, the P.AiR.S Project Development Residency, the FOCAL Script Coaching and the Post-Production Award. Take the opportunity and apply now!

European Short Pitch
Saturday, 9/11/24, blue Cinema Maxx
As in previous years, Kurzfilmtage is collaborating with European Short Pitch. During a pitching session for projects in development, a Swiss project will be selected for participation in the 2025 edition of European Short Pitch. The winner will benefit from a scriptwriting workshop, production and pitching training, mentoring sessions, and participation in the Coproduction Forum.

Reasons to Buy a Film
Saturday, 9/11/24, blue Cinema Maxx
The Industry Conversation: Reasons to Buy a Film in collaboration with the Swedish Film Institute offers short film directors an opportunity to present the first three minutes of a current project to experts who work in acquisitions, sales, and distribution. Prominent industry representatives will watch the clips and assess their market potential. Rough cuts and works in progress are eligible.

P.AiR.S Project Development Residency
Friday, 8/11/24, and Saturday, 9/11/24, Alte Kaserne Winterthur
We are again awarding a Project Development Residency sponsored by P.AiR.S this year. The residency offers accommodation and a workspace at the Paradiesli guest house and arts centre in Sigriswil in January and February 2025 (seven weeks maximum). Following a professional pitching training session on Friday, participants will pitch their projects to a three-person jury of experts.

FOCAL Script Coaching
Saturday, 9/11/24, Alte Kaserne Winterthur
During Kurzfilmtage, FOCAL again offers free coaching sessions for six to eight short film projects. This is an opportunity for screenwriters and directors to receive professional feedback on their scripts. The coaching sessions last 60 to 90 minutes.

Postproduction Award
Kurzfilmtage presents the Postproduction Award, a non-cash prize worth CHF 10 000.– donated by Jingle Jungle sound studios. The award-winning project, selected by an expert jury, will receive the following postproduction services: dialogue/soundtrack editing, dubbing, sound design, foley, sound mixing, and music composition.

For more information on these opportunities, visit our website www.kurzfilmtage.ch. The application deadline for all programmes is 10 October 2024.

We look forward to your submissions!
Best wishes,
